Sunny Easter

Rained all Saturday night but Easter was sunny and bright for most of the day. Some showers, of course; it is Ireland after all.

Easter was basically jet lag recovery day for us. We didn’t do much except take a walk. Our car didn’t move. By the way, the car is named Seamus for no especially good reason. It’s a 2021 Toyota C-HR Hybrid – has a battery but uses regular unleaded gas. No charging required.

We had lunch sitting outside noshing on delicious fish (cod today) and chips from Sheehy’s lunch wagon. Had a beer at Curran’s Pub with the locals. It’s not a big tourist draw. There’s a couple of great videos on the web about Curran’s. One (from Rick Steves) is here:

I had a good nap in the afternoon and we had dinner at home: breaded chicken cutlets, scalloped potatoes, and mixed veggies. Then we were off early to bed.

  1. Good thing you missed all the ballyhoo at Logan Airport. Sent millions into the streets, they shut down the airport due to an unidentified package. What a mess, and the day before the marathon! Glad you didn’t stay longer in Boston!

The fish looks great, and so does the house and the weather. Enjoying the bog, been so long! CHEERS!

  2. Fish and chips looks delish. Jeff wants to know where’s the ketchup!

Great video of Curran’s. Very eclectic. Too bad you can’t still buy pajamas.

    Seamus is very sleek.

  3. Glad to see these posts that you have resumed travel to Ireland. Just one more step towards normalcy. As I heave a sigh of relief. Looking forward to reading more. Love to you both. Tell Elaine she looks good in your pictures, not a day over 50! Hahaha!

  4. Great to see you both back on Irish land. “Fish and chips” one of my favorites. Can only imagine how fresh and good it is there. Curran’s, very interesting place in the video.

  5. Looking good Elaine! You were lucky you did not get stuck in Boston. It was a mess on the news! Perfect timing this trip.
